Port Cunnington Lodge on Lake of Bays has always been one of my favourite wedding spots in Muskoka. From its perfect waterfront, to the cozy cabins spread out around the property, to the feeling of being well away from the "real world," Port Cunnington has a magical vibe that makes it a perfect site for a wedding celebration.
When you add a couple like Mariah and Mark, Port Cunnington also becomes the funnest place in the world.
Amazingly laid back, and so obviously in love, Mariah and Mark were a blast to work for. Along with their awesome crew of friends, the couple gave me enough laughs to last the whole summer.
Even though it was early in the season, the day was hot, and Mark and the boys spent a long time before the ceremony in the lake. The weather held out for the ceremony on the dock and photos afterwards, and then a sudden, torrential rain went as suddenly as it came, leaving us with some brilliant post-storm light.
Such a terrific and fun day, Mariah and Mark! Congratulations!
(Also a big thanks to my second shooter for the day, Kate Gass of Visual Roots. Kate and I have had a few opportunities to work together, and her photos and her personality are equally awesome - it's always a pleasure to watch her work with people.)
